Release Update April 2026

This release focuses on strengthening your direct Kafka/Confluent connections with two powerful new capabilities: SASL/PLAIN authentication support for secure, certificate-free broker access, and Schema Registry integration for consistent, validated message structures across your data pipelines. Additionally, we've improved the sequencing of RAP event data, enabling direct use without prior extraction – even in complex multi-threaded scenarios. Read on to discover what's new and how to get started.

SASL/PLAIN Authentication for Kafka/Confluent

Securing your Kafka/Confluent environment just got easier: ASAPIO connectors using a direct Kafka/Confluent connection can now authenticate to brokers via username and password through SASL/PLAIN.

This makes it straightforward to connect to Confluent Cloud or self-managed Kafka/Confluent clusters in a secure and enterprise-ready way.

See our release page to get started.

Schema Support for Kafka/Confluent

Data quality and consistency across your Kafka/Confluent pipelines are now easier to maintain:
ASAPIO connectors can now publish Schema Information together with the payload, enabling to publish on Schema-backed topics.

More details and setup info on our release page.

Guaranteed Sequencing of RAP Event Data

Maintaining the correct order of events in multi-threaded scenarios has always been a challenge – this release addresses it head on.

The improved sequencing support enables ASAPIO connectors to directly use RAP event data without requiring prior data extraction. Powered by an outbox pattern, the new API guarantees the correct sequence is preserved even under demanding, concurrent workloads.

This enhancement is available for all connectors – check our release page for more details and instructions.

Event Studio Updates and Improvements

  • Integration Catalog (see details below)
  • Support for CDS view entities in catalog
  • AsyncAPI export for CDS entity payloads
  • Added data layer filter
  • Connections can be filtered by connector
  • New data catalog model, to support all kinds of data layers, including custom objects
➡️ See all updates on the Event Studio page.

Bidirectional AMQP support

AMQP (Advanced Message Queuing Protocol) is an ISO standard for messaging that reduces typical REST overhead by using a continuous TCP connection to the broker.

SAP Cloud ALM Integration & Exception Monitoring

This new feature enables you to publish the logs of the Integration Add-on to Cloud ALM in order to perform integration and exception monitoring in your central platform.
